Meadowlark Counseling is proud to partner with Southern Utah University (SUU) on an innovative research project designed to advance the field of behavioral health and strengthen the quality of care delivered to clients across Montana. This collaboration reflects Meadowlark’s commitment to evidence-based practice, ongoing professional learning, and the use of current, research-supported technologies in clinical work.
The joint study—Associated Outcomes with VR Soft Skills Training—led by Dr. Brad Simpson and SUU research faculty, examines how virtual reality (VR) can enhance essential soft skills like communication, leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving among behavioral health providers. By integrating immersive VR modules alongside surveys and seminars, the project aims to modernize traditional training methods and evaluate whether this innovative approach leads to measurable improvements.
Meadowlark Counseling engages in research that strengthens the science behind mental health care and allows us to bring emerging insights directly into our clinical practice. Our partnership with SUU also supports continued professional growth by exposing our team to cutting-edge training tools and contemporary learning methods. Through this work, Meadowlark and SUU are helping advance the next generation of behavioral health training—promoting innovation, strengthening provider competence, and supporting a more effective, resilient workforce for the communities we serve.
